South Korea - Administrative Notice on the Revision of Safety Standards for Supplier Conformity Verification Targeted Children's Products

​​The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy of South Korea (MOTIE) has announced a draft revision of safety standards for specific children’s products under the Special Act on Safety of Children’s Products to align safety standards with currently distributed products (e.g., roller skates and inline skates) and address classification types, testing methods, and international compliance.

​Clarification of Product Classification:

- Removed distinctions between leisure and competition usage.

- Updated product classification from size-based categorization to weight-based categorization.

Harmonization with International Standards:

- EN 13899: Roller Skates

- EN 13843: Inline Skates
